In the spring of 1936, a group of eight people from the Cloquet area envisioned a better way of getting the financial services they and their community needed.
In the decades that followed, the credit union grew and expanded the range of mortgage products offered.
At MCCU, we strive to not only meet, but exceed, the expectations of our members by offering the most popular mortgage products available. We have many options to fit the needs of our borrowers— whether they are purchasing or refinancing a home. MCCU also continues to develop unique products, like our home improvement loans, leased land products and tiny home financing.
Our real estate professionals have a wealth of knowledge and experience, closing hundreds of loans each year. They are tapped in to their communities, constantly seeking easier and more inclusive paths to homeownership for our members. They push to develop and incorporate more advanced technology, products, and services to meet our members’ ever-changing wants and needs.
To serve our members better, MCCU recently added services like local underwriting and e-signatures for disclosure documents. We have enhanced our appetite and abilities for servicing the mortgages we originate.
We are proud of our success and strive to continue to be innovative, while providing the top notch service our members have come to expect.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
