Miijalisa was born and raised in Northern Minnesota and has made Duluth her home for most of her life. Her name is pronounced “My-a-lisa”. She's also known as "Miija" or, more commonly, "Jacob’s mom". Miija has been a familiar face and an experienced financial expert with MCCU since 1995.
Miija is an avid volunteer and spends much of her time with youth baseball, hockey, and the Scouts. You may have seen her at a baseball field or at different hockey rinks supporting Duluth East Hockey. Outside of youth activities, Miija enjoys spending time with her husband and son relaxing at their cabin on Floodwood Lake or helping her son earn his merit badges. You may also see her on the back of her husband’s Harley cruising around the Northland.
"Working at MCCU for just over 25 years, I have formed a strong bond with my members by getting to know them", says Miija. "I enjoy the opportunity to build relationships and find a solution that works for them."

PATRIOT ACT: Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
